Description:
Scarce Winchester 94 Commemorative Cheyenne .44-40 and was issued in 1977 in memory of the Cheyenne Indian Nation with a total production run of only 11,225. The receiver, lever, and fore-end cap are 24kt gold plated with a 20" barrel and 10 shot capacity. Weighs 6 lbs 9 oz. and is fitted with a saddle ring and crescent shaped butt-plate. The receiver is engraved with a Cheyenne brave on horseback hunting buffalo and an Indian Chief in full headdress followed by a brave and the legend "Cheyenne" on the right.
The barrel is roll-marked "Cheyenne Carbine" in gold. The stocks are walnut with a gold colored medallion set into the butt and Indian style brass tacks adorning the forearm. These particular rifles were distributed to the Canadian market and do not come up for sale very often in the U.S. Is in excellent condition with no handling marks or scratches. Made in New Haven, Conn. Sorry but there is no box.
