Description:
***   SOLD  ***   Handsome and svelte 20 bore hammergun with rebounding hammers and very nicely figured nitro Damascus barrels. Loads of residual case coloring. A high quality smallbore hammergun with Deeley forearm latch, extractors, and horn forearm tip. Gun was recently refurbished with refreshed checkering and the hammersprings replaced.  The Damascus barrels were rebrowned and the trigger guard and toplever reblacked. Easy to carry at 5lb 11oz.   ***   The highly figured 28” nitro Damascus barrels have 2-1/2” chambers and are nitro proofed for 7/8 oz loads. The barrels are topped by a raised solid concave gamestyle rib. The rib is inscribed “Edward Adkins 194 High Street Lewes”. The right barrel is bored 0.625 with a constriction of 0.004 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.028. The left barrel is bored 0.626 and has a constriction of 0.015 for Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.027. The bores are shiny in the main but there is some roughness in the left barrel near the muzzle.   ***   The straight grip stock and forearm are made of figured European walnut. The checkering has been refreshed and the wood refinished. There is a handsome horn tip on the forearm and it is equipped with a Deeley latch.  There is also a blank initial shield on the buttstock. The length of pull is 14-1/8” including a thin ebony buttplate by 1-1/2" by 2-1/4". Cast off for the righthand shot.   ***   Great smallbore double for game or clays. Lethal on upland game.   ***   Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period and will accept returns at buyer’s expense.
