Few other than Marlin collectors know of these early Deluxe 336 Rifles. Called A or ADL (Deluxe) they were intended to compete with and were more expensive than Win 64 Deluxe of that era (Good Win 64 Deluxes are well over 2k now)
This gun is in exceptional overall condition. The handsome factory hand checkered American Walnut Stock Set has considerably more figure than is normally found. A pad has been added but the stock has NOT been cut and a standard plastic Marlin Butt Plate is avail from many sources. The signature Marlin bullsey on the underside of the butt stock is missing as they most ofter are in older Marlins as the wood drys and shrinks the button falls out. These are avail from various sources and require a little hand fitting.
As a 1950 (Prefix G) gun this one (a waffle top) was not drilled and tapped at the factory but was at some time lated and is equipped with a Weaver type scope base. Rear site has been removed perhaps to make room for scope clearance however the front site hood is still present .
These were chambered in 30 30, 32 Sp and 35 rem and made from 1948 to 1962.
This is a rifle with a full 24" Barrel same as Winchester 64 deluxe and half magazine contributing to
