Payment Types Accepted: Postal Money Order Description: The Remington Mark III Signal Pistol is a manually operated, hammer-fired, single-shot signal pistol with a hinged barrel. It was loaded by breaking down the barrel in a shotgun fashion from a pintle hinge located under the front end of the barrel. The flare pistol has no mounted sights on it. The pistol is made of a 9" long, tapered, dull iron smooth-bore barrel and a bright brass frame with a two-piece plain walnut pistol grip. The pistol has a large screw on the left side of the frame, which acts as a barrel release latch. The pistol has a squared-off butt and is fired by a spur-type trigger, with no trigger guard. There is non-slip checkering located on the thumb pull-back on the hammer and on the spur trigger. The flare pistol fires a special shot-type metal cartridge charged with a powder designed to direct the flare into the air. These types of flare pistols were used during World War I by U.S. forces for signaling. Not to be used with a 10 gauge shotgun shell. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Shotgun Gauge: 10 Gauge |
