Description:
Ropes Pattern Holster .45 Cal. for the Colt Single Action & Smith & Wesson Revolvers. The design was introduced by Captain James M. Ropes, 8th U.S. Cavalry at Fort Ringgold, Texas in a letter to Adjutant General Dec. 3, 1883. The holster is in used condition, all stitching intact, also has crazing. The loops under the flap for .45 Cal. cartridges are delicate and a couple are broken. Still a very rare holster.
