Description:
Dexter Smith shotguns were made in Springfield, Mass. from 1871 to 1881 with less than 300 manufactured. It has a 30 1/2" blued steel barrel measuring .680 at the muzzle. (full choke) It sports a bright bore with no pitting or bulges. There is a small area of light pitting on the top of the barrel between the muzzle and the front bead.The walnut stocks have no cracks or chips with minimal dings and scratches. The greyed receiver has a few dings and one small patch of light pitting on the right side. The smooth steel buttplate is mottled but not pitted. This is an amazingly nice sample of this model and would make a nice addition to your collection.
