Description:
This COLT was produced in 1971 which also was the last year of production. Serial number is 8450MR. This is the third and last variation of this model. This COLT chambers the .38 Special Wadcutter ammunition. This pistol is in excellent, very fine to near new condition and would rate a strong 98% to 99% overall condition. The sights are original to this pistol. The Elliason rear sight is adjustable and the front sight has a white dot for better & faster target acquisition. The bore is bright and minty looking. The hand-carved dark Mahagony wood grips are in fine condition featuring a thumb rest on the left side and fish-scales pattern on both sides for better looks and grip. It has been well cared for as you would expect for a target pistol The high polish is bright on the slide sides, the low luster finish on the frame and top is intact. There are three small German proof marks at the end of the left slide. Discreet import marking. This model of 38 Mid Range pistols are the rarest of the standard production National Match pistols ever produced. There were slightly over 9 Thousand pistols in all three variations produced in total for this model. The quality of workmanship in these pistols is of the best offered from COLT. These pistols are not often seen for sale. This is a really nice highly collectable rare COLT that would make any COLT collector proud to have.
