This Remington Rolling Block Cadet Rifle was manufactured using a Remington 1867 pistol action. Known as the Pistol-framed Cadet Rifle. It was chambered in .50 Remington Pistol Centerfire. It was intended for sale to military schools and boys cadet corps.
Markings: legible; navy inspector markings "P/FCW" on right side of frame - left side of frame marked "REMINGTONS ILION NY USA/PAT. MAY 3D NOV 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1866" Both barrel bands marked with a “U”.
This is a rare rifle, only about 1,000 of these cadet rifles were produced by Hartley & Co. of New York. Their advertising referred to these cadet rifles as “REMINGTON CADET RIFLE NO. 205”
Over all good condition See pictures for condition. Mechanically very tight. Bore is in excellent condition.
