Description:
General Specs: Browning, Year 1969, 28 Gauge, 6lbs 4oz, Chokes SK/SK, LOP 14 5/16", DAH 2 1/8", DAC 1 5/16"
Serial Number: 2751F69

The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs.  Produced in plain-jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped.  Browning did not introduce the Superposed in the 28ga. gun until 1960.  From 1960 to 1977 there were a total of only 1501 Grade 1 Field style 28ga. guns produced so you can see why they are so hard to find.  Many of the 28ga. guns you do find are salt wood guns, guns with cut stocks and recoil pads, and guns with lots of wear.  The gun we have here, sn2751 F69 made in 1969, is very special, as it is in NEAR NEW CONDITION WITH 99% FACTORY BLUE AND ONLY A FEW LIGHT FIELD MARKS IN THE WOOD.   The action is tight on face and hinge…the gun has barely been shot.  The wood has virtually all the original factory finish.  The barrels are 26 ½” choked SKEET/SKEET, the ultimate quail, grouse, woodcock, and preserve pheasant gun.  It is just at home on the skeet range and clays course as it is in the field. Weighing just 6lbs. 4oz. (4-6 ounces lighter than most) and balanced perfectly just forward of the hinge pin it is a delight in hand.  The screws are perfect, and the gold-plated trigger retains almost all of the gold finish.  This is a premium, hard to find gun unaltered since it left the factory.  THIS GUN HAS BEEN TESTED BY VFI GUNSMITHS AND IS COMES WITH A VFI “NO SALT CERTIFICATION” IN WRITING TO BE A NO SALT GUN.  THIS IS AN IRON-CLAD, MONEY BACK IN FULL GUARANTEE!  There is no corrosion anywhere and the butt plate screws are original and as new.  They don't get any better, and these little 28ga. Superposed guns keep going up in value and make a great investment as you enjoy its use.  Whether in the field for upland game or on the clays course breaking targets, this Belgium Browning is a very good investment.  The Superposed was a true hand-fitted, hand engraved, hand checkered, finely made European shotgun that has earned its place in history as the most successful over/under in the 20th century.  Don't miss out on this one as it is priced to sell.  Thanks for looking!
