CLASSIC SAVAGE 99EG LEVER ACTION RIFLE IN DESIRABLE .250-3000 SAVAGE CALIBER, #511XXX, MADE 1949. This fine all steel and walnut rifle is topped with a period correct all steel Weaver K4 scope with cross hair reticle in matching Weaver marked rings/mounts. The front and rear sights have been removed from their dovetails on the barrel so as to not block the scope view. Aside from the scope, the rifle is unaltered and has the correct 24" barrel with brass rotary magazine with cartridge counter on the left side cut-out. Stock and forearm show light handling only with good checkering patterns in the pistol grip and forearm and original steel butt plate. Barrel blue is fine with some wear and thinning spots , the receiver blue is thinned and mixing brown. Excellent bore and action. Fine clear optics in the scope. Holding this rifle makes you want to put on some faded and patched red flannel and head for the deer woods like the original owner, probably a young W. W. II vet, no doubt did!
