VERY FINE CONDITION CLASSIC 1894 OCTAGON RIFLE IN .30WCF, #432XXX, MADE 1909. Sharp condition overall, this 1894 shows nearly all the deep blue on the barrel and magazine. The receiver also shows fine blue on the sides and bolt with only normal edge wear and some wear to the bottom of the receiver from handling. All markings are sharp and clear, stock and forend are excellent and show the most minor of handling and display tight wood to metal fit. Tight action with strong springs and half cock notch on the hammer. The barrel is fitted with a three leaf express sight with all three leaves intact (it always seems the middle leaf is broken on these) matched with the standard Winchester small blade front sight. Screws are excellent and the bore is a bit dark, but not pitted and shows strong, sharp rifling all the way through. I believe this one was stored for many years as there is still some dried grease on the lever, hammer etc. that I did not clean off. This is a really nice '94 with a lot of condition. Getting hard to find 1894 octagon rifles that are 113 years old in this condition.
