EXTREMELY SCARCE MODEL 56 .22 LONG RIFLE BOLT ACTION REPEATER, ONLY MADE 1926-1929! Only 8297 of this neat sporter were made before production stopped. Of these, 1171 were in .22 Short only which leaves a production total for those in .22 LR at only 7127 manufactured! These took the usual Winchester 5-round magazines and had an attractive schnable on the forend tip. The barrel shows fine blue with only a few small areas dulling from age. Original sights are retained. The action blue is thinning and mixing brown and there is still good blue on the trigger guard and bottom metal around the magazine well. The wood is excellent and shows maybe the slightest of handling only. It retains the original steel butt plate. Action is fine and the bore is minty bright. These almost never seem to come up for sale, especially in this condition.
