Description:
If you have been looking for a nice little English boxlock for the lady of your life or to get your son or daughter started shooting a side by side this might just be the perfect little gun for you. This is a 20 gauge Anson Deeley boxlock made by C.S. Rosson & Company. According to my research and going by the address on the top rib the gun was built between 1914 and 1932. The serial number is 3212. This little gun has 25 inch barrels with 2 1/2 inch chambers and is proofed for 7/8 ounce of shot and having ejectors. Barrels ring very nicely and sit very tightly on face with no play whatsoever. Top lever still slightly right of center. The gun shows a modern reproof symbol and is in proof. Chokes in both barrels are improved cylinder at .007 and .006. Stock dimensions are 1 1/2 X 2 X 13 5/8 over the pictured solid pad. The straight English stock is cast off for the right hand shooter and is nicely figured English Walnut with drop points. It also has a splinter forend with the Anson latch. Weight of this compact little gun is 5 pounds 5 ounces. Condition of the gun is very nice overall. Wood finish is excellent with hardly a mark anywhere and very nice checkering. Barrel black is thinning but no corrosion and the bores are excellent measuring .621 in the right barrel and .617 in the left. Again the gun is in proof. All screws are in nice condition and well timed. Again, this would make a nice gun for a person of smaller stature or a stock extension could easily be added to give you a longer LOP.
