Description:
This is a German Gewehr 1888 "commission rifle" from 1891. The hardwood stock has a straight grip, nose cap with bayonet lug, cutout for the included cleaning rod, barrel band with sling loop, through bolt, sling loop under the butt and a metal butt plate. Top of the receiver marked with an "S" indicating the 1905 upgrade to the Spitzer cartridge 7.92x57mm
