CATALONIA SPAIN MIQUELET DOUBLE BARREL Shotgun Spanish Side by Side Antique
SxS Percussion Shotgun, Formerly Flintlock
Here we present an antique Catalan Miquelet Side by Side Shotgun. The miquelet is an early and sturdy form of flintlock popular throughout the Ottoman Empire from the seventeenth into the early twentieth century. The unique stock design comes from the Catalonia region of Spain.
This gun would have originally been flintlock, but it was converted to percussion, probably in the 1840s or thereafter. Bores measure approximately 28 gauge.
The overall condition is good. Strong actions. The bores are clear and remain in good shape (aged). Solid stock containing an expected amount of wear. Both locks are lightly engraved. Replacement ramrod.
