Description:
Very unique Sedgley Springfield 1903. I put the year of manufacture around 1931 based on the features of this gun. It has some features of the De Luxe model but not all. The barrel is marked 30-06 with the circle S. However, rather than Sedgley's stamp, the barrel is engraved (not stamped), in quotes "Albertson" of Lewes De. the receiver, as usual with Sedgely, has the bridge stippled and the serial number "81" appears on the base of the receiver. I bought this gun from Griffin and Howe. It has a Griffin and Howe side mount witha an excellent Hensoldt Wetzlar scope. The scope is 2 3/4x and the optics are excellent. The gun also has a Williams receiver sight and hooded front sight. The bluing is a deep bright blue and is about 90% with no rust and only a few rub marks. The stock is in excellent shape with a perfect oil finish and horn fore-end. The hand checkering is still sharp and crisp. Hand checkered metal grip cap. There is a later addition red presentation rubber pad. The stock has some nice figure and has sling swivel studs. There is a silver plate ithe initials GWB and decorative hand-cut engraving. The bolt knob has sharp hand checkering and the trigger has been grooved. The trigger guard has a cross bolt safety. The magazine follower has been re-built to allow closing on an empty chamber. Weight is 8 1/4 pounds. The barrel is 23 inches and the length of pull is 12 1/4 inches. Shipping is $45. C&R eligible. Open to reasonable offers. No trades please.
