Springfield Model M1922MI training/cadet rifle. .22 lr. Bolt action based on a Springfield 1903 .30-06 US military rifle. This is the last version of this rifle that was introduced in 1925. It has a 24” barrel and a 5-round magazine.
These 1922’s are very collectible especially to military collectors.
This gun has parkerized metal and an MI marked action but with M2 marked bolt, a 5-42 barrel date and with a 19,878 serial number it certainly falls into the end of the production of M2’s. Bore is shootable, but not bright.
My thoughts are that this is an arsenal rebuild. In addition the stock has been refinished and a grip cap was added.
