Sears Ranger Target, .22 lr bolt action rifle. 26” barrel with muzzle diameter of ¾” and a bright bore. Mounted on the rifle is a long target scope. The scope is fairly high-power with a fine cross hair reticle, adjustable objective and the clarity is good to very good. The exterior of the scope has been painted which probably is hiding the manufacturer information. The scope is mounted to the rifle on Winchester mounts.
The Ranger is the civilian version of the Stevens model 416 military target rifle.
The on-line comments from collectors refer to the Ranger as: “undervalued”, “shoot way better than they look” and so on!
Some time ago it looks like the stock was sanded, had a pistol grip cap added and the refinished with linseed oil.
No iron sights come with rifle.
