Description:
SOLD  Excellent metal condition with no modifications to the original metal configuration.
The military stock has been shortened, and the sling button in front of the slot in the stock is missing. No doubt by a GI so it would fit in his doufle bag for the trip back to the US at the end of WWII.
"FLUSS - STAHL KRUPP - ESSEN" stamped on top of bbl. KAL. 22 LONG RIFLE and serial number stamped on right side of bbl
fluss-stahl = Fluid Steel (as opposed to Damascus)
krupp-essen = Krupp made the barrel steel in the city of Essen Germany..
The action / completed rifle was made by "Simson Werke". (circled S inside a triangle on reciever).
This is a “between the wars” German training target rifle, marked with the Simpson logo.
The Simson family of gun manufacturers dated back to 1856, but Simson was a Jewish family.
In 1935 the government trumped up charges against the Simpsons,
arrested some< and others escaped.
Later rifles were marked BSW
All metal parts are in better condition than you usually find these training rifles. Extremely accurate.
Would make a great project to streamline and refinish the wood.
$75.00 shipping, Money Order or personal check OK.
