I have a WWII Remington Rand 1911 late 1944 production National Match pistol. This 1911 is in great condition for a 78 y/o pistol. After WWII Springfield Armory took variations of 1911 pistols in the Arsenal and converted them to National Match pistols starting in 1955. My research shows that Colt had been successful with their NM program that Springfield would give it a go. According to records this pistol lines up with a first year production(1955) and is complete minus the barrel. The barrel is a correct barrel but is not marked NM. The magazine is a 1944 production and it even has the US marked barrel nut wrench. Haven’t seen to many of these RR National Match pistols. It would make a great piece for a collection.
