Engraved Gold and Silver Inlaid Single Shot Rolling Block Spanish Shotgun by Felipe Galbarsoro of Eibar. Overall length is approximately 48", The 33" octagon to round 12 Gauge barrel has a fine, bright bore. It is chambered for 2½" shells. The barrel has a smooth mottled blue/brown patina. The butt plate has a dark mottled patina, and the remaining metal surfaces have a smooth silver/gray patina. The top barrel flat is marked “FA De Felipie Galbarsoro Eibar" in gold inlay with decorative silver inlays on the adjacent flats. There is a gold inlaid rope around the transition from octagon to round along with a nicely executed wedding band and raised decoration forward of that on the barrel. The muzzle has a silver inlaid band and silver blade front sight with a silver spider inlaid around it. The wood is good with scattered minor dents and scratches and sharp checkering. The receiver top, sides and trigger guard are relief engraved with floral scroll designs. Sling swivels are mounted on the barrel and butt stock. The checkered walnut forearms have a leaf design carved on the tip along with a bore insert. The action functions perfectly. This is a great example of a high quality Spanish shotgun made by a well-known Eibar maker.
