SOLD THIS RIFLE HAS BEEN SOLD Listing a Savage model 99 rifle in the 250/3000 chambering, sn 545229 dates this fine rifle to 1950 Mfg, sports a 24" barrel, Lyman front and rear tang mounted Model 56 peep sight, no extra holes or cracks any where. Metal butt plate, I believe it's the model EG, has a pistol grip stock and factory Checkering, studs are present for clip on sling swivels . This was the last model with the Schnauble forarm. The books are a bit tough to decifer for me anyway, I believe after 1950 the serial numbers were no longer stamped on butt plate, forearm and stock , a Boss code instead was stamped. This rifle shoots and cycles fine, wood and metal were never redone and is pretty free of any dings. Nice rifle for 72 years old.
