Description:
Rifled bore. Correct bayonet in excellent condition including the leather covered scabbard. Correct ramrod. Overall wood is very good with a considerable amount of varnish remaining. Typical handling mars and dings. Metal is semi-bright and has most likely been cleaned some. These were left in the white at the time of manufacture. Correct 2-leaf rear sight. Excellent mechanics. Lock plate is dated 1863 with US Springfield. Nice Springfield musket.
