This beautiful Griffin & Howe .30-06 sporting rifle was made on a Model 98 Mauser action. The overall length is approx. 45"". The 24"" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling.  It is fitted with a ramped blade front sight with protector. The top of the barrel is marked No 1298 Griffin & Howe, Inc. New York. The gun has approx. 99% blue. The action is jeweled. The left side of the receiver has a G&H scope base mounted and the right has a Lyman peep (missing slide). The stock is excellent. It is nicely checkered at the wrist and forearm and has an outlined cheekpiece. It is equipped with quick detach swivel eyes on the barrel and butt. The pistol grip cap is steel and the buttplate is rubber.. The length of pull is 13 7/8"". The Weaver KV scope is fitted in a G&H mount. The optics are excellent. The action functions correctly.  This .30-06 Griffin & Howe Model 98 rifle is fit for the finest collection.
