Payment Types Accepted: Money Order, Certified Check Description: Scarce Winchester Shot Cartridges in Caliber 50-95 Express. The sides are all intact and the original partition is inside the box. There are 13 of the original 20 cartridges still in the box...each with a Winchester headstamp and early brass primer. These shot rounds are a little shorter than the regular 50 Express rifle cartridges. They were meant to be used for single loading one at a time in a Winchester 1876 rifle, Winchester 1885 Single Shot Hiwall Rifle, or the Colt Large Frame Lightning Rifle chambered in 50-95 Express. I'm just guessing here but if there was one of these in the chamber and just one in the magazine tube of a lever action, theoretically the 2nd round would feed assuming it ramped up into the chamber smoothly on its own. Any more though and being shorter, the end of the next round would get pushed into the block and jam the brass lifter/carrier. Most people would probably never think of using a rifle as a shotgun but with a 1/2 inch Bore, 50 Caliber is somewhere between a 28 Gauge and a 410 on my bore gauge. These are pretty scarce. $20.00 shipping. SOLD Rifle Caliber: .50-95 Winchester |
