Description:
Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver with early small trigger guard. 100% matching numbers including wedge.  SN# in 118,000 range.  Made in 1856.  Four inch barrel with early style 2 line New York Address.  5 shot cylinder that still has all of its safety pins...3 are very good, 2 are fair.  Overall, NRA Antique Very Good with 10% original blue remaining on the barrel...mostly in protected areas and a few small streaks on the flats.  Frame still shows some remnants of the original case color hardening which is faded out to silver...quite a bit remaining on the left side.  Trigger guard retains 25% original silver plating on the brass and 10% on the backstrap.  Nice mechanics.  Bore has good rifling with a few pits. Barrel is tight to the frame.  Grips are near Excellent overall and have 95% original varnish remaining.  Cylinder still has 95% strong roll-engraved scene depicting a stagecoach robbery.  Many of these 1849 Pockets were privately purchased and carried by soldiers in both the Northern and Southern Armies during the Civil War.  Antique, Pre-1898 Percussion.  Antique Under Federal Law.  Some local and state laws may vary.  $20.00 shipping.
