Description:
This is a model 1894 Springfield Trap door in 45-70 govt with a ramrod spike bayonet. The bore is shinny and looks to make a good shooter. The Serial # places it being manufactured Jan-Mar of 1891 which matches the cartouche on the stock that is 1891. This trap door is in very good condition, there are some small dings in the barrel in front of the rear barrel band where it looks like the band was tapped with a tool during reassembly at some point can be seen in the pictures. The barrel has a nice blue brown patina. I personally really like the butt stock sliding cover on the "tool holder" instead of the thumb nail killing spring loaded round cover.
