Description:
This is an original model 1850 Foot Officers sword and leather scabbard. I think the scabbard is not an Ames scabbard as there are no stamps on the top of the throat. But it is a Period original. The sword retains all of the etching on the blade but some of it is weak. The blades ricasso is etched with Ames Mfg., Chicopee Mass.The U.S. is shown in the photos All of the Rayskin on the grip has worn away but the twisted brass wire is complete. The length of the blade has a few nicks that I show in the photo's Shipping is $20.00 and includes a tracking number.
