Manufactured in 1943-1944, this 3rd Block production Underwood M1 Carbine is a great representative piece of WW2 history. This M1 Carbine is comprised of all Underwood manufactured components and is 100% original besides the stock and rear sight. The Marlin produced "M-U" marked stock is in good condition with no visible cracks and shows consistent wear for its age. The Underwood marked barrel which dates "9-43" is original to the receiver, and has the correct "Bomb" and "P" proof marks. The muzzle erosion gauges at a "1+" and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The barrel sports no bayonet lug, which is correct for a rifle of this vintage. The factory rear sight was replaced and appears to have been a WWII field replacement/repair. All of the factory markings on this carbine are crisp, clear, and fully legible. This M1 passes headspacing tests and is in great mechanical condition. This carbine also features a "Data/Spec" sheet which lists every part of the rifle by type and manufacturer. Don't miss out on this hard to find example of World War 2 history.
