Description:
Classic vintage target rifle from the time when the Stidworthy's ruled Camp Perry. This is a very good condition Remington Rangemaster .22lr target rifle. The stock is solid and has an added cheek piece. The stock has been professionaly modified during its day with a high comb for prone shooting and can be removed for barrel cleaning. This gun has A Womack 400 barrel. Womack was the premier gunsmith during this rifles heyday. His long tube front sights were ubiquitous on the firing line at Perry. I have a Womack front long tube sight for this gun available at extra cost. The Davis 10x Spotshot is hard to find today. It has Unertl type target mounts. The optics are clear with the exception of a tiny speck of dust on the top vertical crosshair. I believe the handstop is a Canjar. Redfield rear sight mount and Anschutz front sight block. It does not detract from the sight picture and the scope is totaly functional and ready for competition even today. The trigger is excellent, on par with a Kenyon. This gun is exceptionally accurate. Below are 20 consecutive shots at 50 yards using Eley Tenex Biathlon. These groups were shot with the Davis Spotshot. I shot these groups today (3/8/2022) Buy this gun and take it to the next match and whoop up on the young kids shooting their 6K steel and aluminum abominations. $2200 shipped to your ffl, C&R eligible.
