A fine little rifle that is delicately done. It is an early German double barrel hammer rifle with back action locks. 27 inch barrels. Pistol grip checkered wood has a cheek piece and in excellent condition. Original horn buttplate as well as a horn trigger guard. It is chambered for 9.3 x 72R cartridge. Bores are excellent condition with sharp rifling. It has a little flip up front sight as well as a 2-leaf folding rear sight. Top opening action. Inlaid into the top of the serpentine lever is the Family monogram of the Queen of Norway with a crown over an S. Engraving is delicate with 4 game scenes, a wolf, wild boar, running stag and a buck deer. Barrels are in excellent condition with a plum color finish. I'm not sure if they were originally browned but they are in fine condition with no pits or scuffs. Receiver is case hardened with just traces of color in protected area. The balance has turned a nickely color. Top of the receiver is delicately matted with relief scroll work showing. This comes with a complete list of Sophia's accomplishments and her family tree.
