Description:
PRICE REDUCED! I acquired this beautiful Sempert & Krieghoff shotgun a while back and must move it along to an appreciative new owner. I was acquainted with Krieghoff because I used to shoot sporting clays with a Krieghoff K80 so when I acquired this shotgun I sent Krieghoff a message asking for more information on it but all of their records were destroyed in WWII so they were no help. I've shown this gun to many old time collectors and no one has seen anything like it. As you can see from the photos it is artistically and beautifully engraved. The 20 gauge smootbore barrel measures 27.5" and the length of pull is 13". It weighs just a hair over 4 pounds. Now the unique aspect of this gun is that it has a hammer and a set trigger. It is an underlever break action. The cape buffalo horn underlever has a crack in it. The framework of the underlever is solidly attached to the cracked piece so there's little chace of it cracking worse or breaking. As you can see in the photos the serial number of the receiver and the barrel are one number off. It's been speculated that this was originally a rifle or had a rifle barrel with it as a set but if that's the case I do not have the other barrel. Or this could have been converted to a shotgun due to sanctions on German rifles after WWI. It's been estimated that this gun is over 100 years old and while there are some dings in the wood the metal is very nice. The bore is smooth and in excellent condition. I have attempted to take many high quality photos of this fine piece so that you can get an accurate idea of the craftsmanship that was put into it. I contacted 2 different fine gun appraisers and unfortunately they have estimated the value at less than what I paid for it. They both estimated its value at between $4500- $6000 but I don't want to pay the 25% fees for them selling it so I decided to list it here at a very fair $4000.    Buyer agrees to pay actual shipping charges which should not be more than $25 but buyer must pay insurance for at least what the gun sells for. Credit card payment will incur a 4% charge. Thanks for looking!
