---------------------Sold --------- Colt SAA British Proof, Cal. 450 Boxer, Blue/Brown gun with a 5 ½” barrel and a good bore, Manufactured in Hartford Connecticut in 1877 on top of the barrel one line Colt London address on the side of the frame is three line patent address on the trigger guard is 45 cal B. Comes with Colt one piece wood grips in very good condition. Mechanically in good condition with a tight cylinder lockup in single action this is an all matching serial number gun. Comes with a factory letter this gun was shipped to Colt’s Patent Fire-Arms MFG Company London Agency London, England in December 31, 1877 in a 168 gun Shipment Serial Number 387XX This Gun is “ANTIQUE” Ship right to your Door”
This early Colt shipped to Colt’s London Office and sold to, and used by, John Hawkins. Upon his death, his niece inherited the gun, which was from whom I purchased the gun. It is chambered for the 450 Boxer round, which was quite popular in early Britain.
