Description:
This is a German Ortgies pistol made in the 1920s . These were very popular firearms , used by the Police , Crimnals and General Public . John Dillinger owned one , as did Eva Braun . This pistol has the third style address , there were five all together . It has the early logo grips , which is correct for this serial range . All numbers are matching on frame , barrel and slide , the bore is excellent , bright and shiney . This gun was not shot much , used mostly for carry . Someone has done the Fitz Special treatment to the trigger quard . This modification is well done  and was done professtionally by a gunsmith . A very good job . This was a very popular modification done in the 1920s - early 1950s . Usually done by Police for carry purposes . This modification enabled the gun to be used quickly if you had gloves on or big hands .If you are not familiar with the Fitz modification , look up John FitzGerald on the internet , it will give the history and some of the Lawmen who carried this modification . This is an unusual gun and would be an interesting piece to add to your Ortgies collection . The barrel , slide and frame are all matching numbers . Overall it is 90% condition with perfect bore and hard to find slide address . This pistol is C&R eligible or shipped to your FFL . Shipping  $15 . Money order ships right away , personal check OK but wait 5 days to clear .
