Rare, All original configuration, just as it left the factory 130 years ago. Very light age patina on the metal parts. Wood looks to be original finish. No cracks or any alterations to any part of it. Original sights, dust cover intact, "38 Cal" on the brass lifter. 38 WCF (Winchester center fire, or 38-40) on the barrel. Bore is frosted, typical for its age. Rifling is strong and very shootable. I have fired it, and functions perfectly. Will hold a 3 - 3 1/2" group at 50 yds with 180gr jacketed bullets. Magazine holds 14 rounds.
