.58 caliber
prior owner mentioned it has a reproduction rear sight
screw is tight, sight just a bit loose (wiggles a tad)
mottled brown/gray finish
bore shows rifling, has brown patina
40" barrel
walnut stock has cartouche (cannot read)
1863 dated lock, safety or half cock works fine
minor pitting on bands and trigger guard and butt plate
butt plate marked US
small chip of wood missing at barrel, (same patina, been gone a long time)
