**** SOLD *** The famed forerunner to the Model 70! Here is a very nice and unmolested example of the Model 54 in scarce 30 WCF (30-30) caliber. There were only 50,000 Model 54 rifles produced in all calibers, and as usual, most were in 30-06. The overwhelming majority of all those produced have endured the ravages of time and destructive alteration to the point of being uncollectible. The 30 WCF caliber also required Winchester's extensive revamping of the action to handle the cartridge and relatively few were made. To find an intact and decent condition 30 WCF caliber rifle has become quite a feat these days. S/N 33280 with matching scribed bolt made in 1931. 90%+ original finishes over most, with buttplate typically showing more wear. There is also a bit of surface freckling/oxidation on outside of muzzle L side. Excellent bore and mechanics. Undrilled rear receiver bridge. There are no bolt handle/safety alterations. Factory inletted/installed long slide Lyman 48W receiver sight with all matching component #s. Expedited shipping from Alaska is $75 with secure packing and full insurance.
