I remember seeing grips like these around the gun shows in the 1960s and 1970s, they were often on 1st gen. Colt SAA and just as likely seen on old S&W revolvers. They have totally disappeared these days, because they are salted away on old collectible frontier era guns. Well, now here is a chance to have a beautiful set of highly decorative "jigged" natural Elk Horn grips that look and feel just like the old ones, with all the grain and character of mother natures material. These grips are made of very dense hard natural bone some may have crack lines, but are completely stable. No two grips will have exactly the same color or jig pattern. They are intended to give you Colt a vintage look. These grips will fit on a 1st or 2nd generation Colt SAA or most all of the Colt clones. On the inside of the grip is a locator pin hole, it is positioned to match up with your Colt pin, but many need to be enlarged slightly. Remove the grip locator pin, position grip for best fit, tape the grip in place, drill the locator pin hole through the grip frame. After that almost no additional fitting is required. The grips you see here are an example of the work. You will receive a similar set made just for you and each pair will be different. Remember they are natural material and may have some minor imperfections. They are not as dense as ivory and can have noticeable porous areas. Material supplies are very limited.
