Here is a very rare opportunity to acquire a completely matching down to the screws Imperial Gewehr 98 made in the original Mauser factory at Oberndorf am Neckar that probably saw duty in WWII as it has an Eagle H cartouch on the stock as well. It is completely unmolested never sanded or refinished and you can feel the history when you pick it up. The worst fitrst...there are a few minor splits on the bottom in the area of the trigger guard as pictured but they are not visible on display. It is a vet bring back for sure with no import marks. If this weapon could only talk!! I would rate the rifling conservatively at 35-40% remaining.The action is butter smooth and in fact the smoothest Ive ever felt in 40 yearts of collecting Mausers.
