***SOLD***This is an exceptionally clean and 100% complete all-original Colt Kodiak .44 Magnum revolver, one of the rarest spin-offs of the "Snake Series" revolvers. Hand-built by Colt's Custom Shop using the Anaconda frame and barrel for one year only in 1993, only 2000 of these special Kodiak revolvers were built in total. This DA/SA Stainless Steel revolver features an Anaconda frame with a hand-tuned action, a 6" inch ventilated rib barrel with a full-length underlug and factory porting, a 6-shot unfluted cylinder, factory adjustable target-style iron sights with a white outline rear blade and hi-viz red insert in the front sight blade, and factory Pachmayr checkered black rubber finger groove grips with Rampant Colt Medallions. The Kodiak was designed as the ultimate version of the Anaconda. The added weight of the full lug barrel and unfluted cylinder combined with the soft grips and factory ported barrel reduced felt recoil substantially. The smooth and precise hand-tuned action combined with the excellent high-quality target-style factory sights made the Kodiak very accurate and easy to shoot. Despite being a superb revolver and a commercial success overall, Colt's Custom Shop stuck to the plan and only built 2000 of these special/limited edition Kodiak Anacondas before discontinuing the model permanently. This particular example is serial number CKA1948 (CKA= Colt Kodiak Anaconda), and it is in superb condition and complete with everything it shipped from the factory with. Bought new by the original owner in 1993, this Kodiak has had less than 20 rounds fired thru it since leaving the factory and is in 100% perfect mechanical condition. The stainless steel is bright and clean rating 98%, with the only deductions coming from a couple of tiny handling marks and a very narrow and faint drag-line around the cylinder. The handling marks consist of a couple of very minor and shallow scratches on the recoil shield that are only visible with the cylinder swung open, and a very faint small discolored spot on the right side of the barrel that may clean off but we will leave that to the next owner. These deductions can be seen in pictures 13 and 24, both of which required us to take the pictures at just the right angle in just the right light to actually show up. All of the factory markings are crisp and clean including the Rampant Colt logo on the frame and the model name "Kodiak" stamped on the left side of the barrel next to a stamp of a bear footprint. The factory matte blue finish on the front and rear sights rates 99% like new, and both the white outline on the rear sight blade and red insert in the front sight are in excellent condition. The bore in this Kodiak is flat mint with perfect, sharp rifling throughout the barrel with no visible imperfections whatsoever. The 6 chambers of the cylinder are equally as perfect and free from damage or imperfections. The factory installed Pachmayr grips on this revolver are in beautiful like-new condition with no visible wear or damage. Both grip panels are free from any tears, chunking, or repairs, and the silver Colt logo medallions are both in excellent shape. As mentioned before, this Colt Kodiak is in like-new condition mechanically. The action is smooth, slick, and perfectly "in time" no matter how fast or slow it is worked, double or single action. All of the controls are in like-new perfect working order. This Colt will function just as well today as the day it left the factory almost 30 years ago! This rare and highly sought-after Colt Kodiak comes complete with the outer factory box complete with the factory serial-numbered end-label, the inner blue plastic hard case, all of the paperwork including the owner's manual and various pamphlets, the factory orange hangtag, the clear plastic shipping bag, and even the original shopping bag from the store that the original owner bought it from! They simply do not get any better than this! This Kodiak could not be upgraded from in any respect. If you are a serious Colt collector or dedicated Colt "Snake Gun" lover here is your chance to get one of the finest examples of this very rare Colt Custom Shop model we have ever seen. This is perhaps the VERY HARDEST of all of the COlt "Snake Guns" to acquire, and to find one like this is such beautiful condition is next to impossible. They will NEVER be cheaper than they are now, so procrastination will not help you in this regard!
