SALE PENDING......Here is a superb example of a hard-to-find Savage Fox Sterlingworth Deluxe. Completely all original. This gun was built after the Savage purchase of the A.H. Fox Gun Company and bears the Utica NY address. Made in the 1930s, this double has the very good features of a Philadelphia gun, such as the pistol grip stock, ejectors, beavertail forend, with the added amenities of twin ivory beads, and factory recoil pad.
These are the hallmarks of the 1930 cataloged Deluxe model. This one is in excellent condition. The receiver has generous amounts of case color and locks up tight. The shotgun weighs in at 5 3/4 pounds, drop at the heel is 2 3/4", and has a LOP of 14" to the end of the pad. This early Savage Fox is one of the last Fox guns accepted by Fox collectors, as quality and features declined in the years following.
Some of the other excellent features are the fluid-compressed 28" barrels, 98+% blueing, mirror-perfect bores, excellent wood, and checkering, and the original NOSHOC pad.
