This is a straight knife. 148 mm blade in mint condition, guard and pommel in gilded brass, lanyard thong hole, dark walnut-type wooden handle, leather sheath of the highest quality. I am selling this third generation Tanazacq Tronçay 1 in perfect condition, see the photos. Through-tang assembly, and Tanazacq's unique double screw system.The magnificent hunting knives of Jean TANAZACQ. Old blade marking from the start of production (1980s) with a wild boar logo, and highly sought after. The beauty of vegetable tanned leather can be find in this exquitse and extremely well-made scabbard.
Without a doubt, this is the knife that forever changed the outcome of the French custom cutlery, when Jean Tanazacq designed it in late 70's. It is Tanazacq's masterpiece which initiated the young cutler to launch his company ARDENNLAME in 1980. This model went on to revolutionize the French custom knife community of that time. With never-before-seen shape, his TRONÇAY I made him take advantage of new techniques with a blade that was sturdy and extremely sharp, offering a wide range of field applications, while promoting a blade design that is both suited for hunting. That was the ideal shape hunters had dreamed off. With an unprecedented, unparalleled line's purity, a most unique design, a powerful lanceolate tip, a beautiful walnut handle with a slightly inclined profile being distinctive features; it was a winner from the very beginning. Forty-two years later, it remains his best seller; its the model to have.
