Description:
"Black Army" Colt from 1918. These pistols are called Black Army because the finish was darker, and unfortunately less durable during the late WW1 era. Often Black Army Colts are found very worn .This is a Colt production piece, left side of the frame above the magazine release is marked with an eagles head over S12 with the bottom of the triggerguard at frame being marked with "27" and the right side of the frame bearing the "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" mark above the serial number, the Y is a partial stamping and isn't complete. Correct Lanyard loop on bottom of frame. The trigger is a plain type with no checkering or serrations. The slide is a 1918 vintage with the Colt Rampart located in middle of roll marked script. Martially marked with narrow notch rear sight. Grips are correct double Diamond with wear to checkering. Magazine has lanyard ring and correct two tone type. Own a piece of Colt WWI history that you can enjoy shooting or admiring. (Holster and rig not included with sale price.)
