Palm frawn decoy by one of the Pacific Coast decoy carvers in the Sacramento Valley. This one published in the Hunting and Fishing Collectibles magazine p. 36 "another body material used in early American folk decoy creation was palm frawned. Chris Fulster also made this type of decoy. The pintail drake example of this type of decoy is by an unknown maker. The ingenuity of styles and materials utilized by our decoy making forebearers to produce these 'remnants of history' speaks volumes about them." A rare and early collectible.
