Description:
Nearly new condition, inside and outside, Winchester Model 490, semi-automatic, 22 LR cal. Made in Canada. Winchester manufactured this all machined steel rifle for only a couple of years in the early 60s. It was a market failure due to its inability to compete price-wise with Ruger's new 10-22 at that time. First edition was recalled fro reported slam fire incidents. Recalled and repaired rifles show an asterix (*) at the end of the serial number. This rifle has a few minor dents from handling, all of which are shown in the pictures.. All visible defects are shown in the picturesThe trigger pull on this rifle has been reduced to 2 1/2 pounds from the nearly 5 ounds with the factory spring.
