The Barrel is made by High Standard and is chambered for the Government 45 A.C.P. cartridge. The bore is in very fine bright condition. This pistol shows light shooting and use. This Ithaca was shipped to Topeka Army Air Field On June 15th 1944. The original war time finish would rate a 98% overall condition. The brown plastic grips are the early style without the reinforcing ring around the grip screws. The magazine is the correct all blued magazine from W.W.2. The slide is very snug on the rails with no sloppyness. This is a very fine example of the Ithaca's that were produced for the war effort. The box is a reproduction that will go with this pistol. This 1911-A1 has a nice history of being sent to the Army Air Forces. this pistol would certainly meet collector grade status and quality!
