Description:
Pre-Owned Boss & Co. Best Side by Side Sidelock Ejector, self-opening action with factory single-trigger. Coin finished action with fine English Rose & Scroll, gold cocking indicators (single, non-selective trigger) and self-opener. Action seems to be in very good condition with patina, light darkening and some damage to screws, trigger guard has been polished and re-blued, showing wear to the engraving, the forearm iron has also been polished and re-blued showing wear. Barrels have been opened to Cylider and Cylinder, polished and reblued (probably many times) that none of the original engraving on the barrels is legible, at some point a ventilated rib has been added to this gun-the rib is not original. What appears to be the factory Pistol grip stock has been drastically shortened to 12 1/2" LOP, the original skeleton butt plate pieces have been preserved and re-fit to the back of the stock, a bone grip cap has been fixed to the pistol grip, full beavertail forearm. Pre-First World War manufacture (Serial Number is 4873). Action is a great candidate for a full restore, barrels are in pore condition although bores are bright and shiny. Does not include case.
