BILL REYNOLDS CARVED CONTEMPORARY .45 CAL FLINTLOCK PENNSYLVANIA KENTUCKY STYLE LONGRIFLE. Custom ordered by it's one owner. 58" overall with 43" octagonal .45 caliber barrel with 8-groove crisp rifling and mint bore. Browned barrel is signed in the old style "Wm. Reynolds". Rear dove-tail sight and long german silver front blade(dovetailed). Lock is rust browned and shows no signs of use or fowling with crisp touchhole(unlined). Full length tiger striped(grain not faux) stock is held by three wedges and has repaired crack through wrist(solid). Brass accents include long(8") underside of forend brass plate extending to ramrod finial and two other brass pipes, sideplate, two half-moons(with engraved faces) on either side of oval mother-of-pearl inletted placque(on cheekrest) and punched patchbox(works great with release button on toe plate). Brass buttplate and triggerguard. German silver escustcheon plate on wrist with owners initials and german silver escutcheon plate on underside of stock as well near toe. Carved accents with silver wire inlays with no losses. Single trigger crisp with two stage flintlock hammer. I believe made in the Ohio gunmakers style. Weighs 9.5 lbs. Very handsome and un-used with one owner who ordered it from Bill Reynolds.
