This is a super rare "Eagle L" Mauser Police P.38 pistol in 9mm Luger. There were only approx. 1,450 Police P.38s with 'byf 43' marked slides and Eagle/L proof. There were only 550 of this specific variation produced as it also features E/135 (Eagle 135 Waffenamts) acceptance stamps. The gun is all-matching and 100% original with only minor high edge wear on slide, muzzle and front strap. It's in excellent condition overall inside and out, with a strong, shiny bore. The decocker/safety lever functions perfectly as do all of the other controls on the pistol. The original factory grips are also in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The original WW2-production magazine has a very faint WaA359 proof on the spine (Walther magazine). This is one of the rarest World War 2 Nazi Police P38's you can possibly find! This would be the centerpiece for any Nazi Police P-38 pistol collection.
