Bought new by the original owner in 1980, this Remington 870 Wingmaster was never even put-together much less shot before it was coated in oil and put into storage for the last 41 years. It is in near perfect condition. We had to remove the dried-up reddish factory preservative oil off of it for pictures, but did not dare put it together either for fear of scratching or putting marks on the barrel extension. As you can see from the pictures, the bolt and bolt face is spotless and mirror-bright, the barrel extension that goes into the receiver is flawless, the bottom of the shell lifter is perfect, and even the action bars do not show a single mark on them, an unavoidable occurrence if the action is worked even a couple of times. The beautiful factory gloss-blue finish rates 99% with the exception of very minor discoloration on the receiver caused by the old factory oil. All of the markings on both the gun and barrel are flawless and crisp, and all of the controls like the safety, trigger, and bolt release are perfect. The bore in the 28" "Full" choked barrel is mirror-bright and pristine, and the ventilated rib is in perfect condition. The beautiful factory American Walnut pistol-grip stock set is just as perfect as the rest of the gun. The bright factory gloss wood finish is 100% intact and crystal-clear, the checkering is perfect, and all of the stock hardware is intact and in mint condition. The factory-installed Remington-branded recoil pad is perfectly fit to the wood and in like-new condition. This 870 Wingmaster comes complete with it's original box and owner's manual, and the Styrofoam box inserts are still intact.
